The NWCA awards two scholarships annually. The scholarships are $1500.00 each and are awarded in the spring of each year. If you are a current member of the NWCA we encourage you to read the following rules for eligibility and submit your student’s application.
Two awards of $1,500.00 each will be given out yearly.
Four people will be chosen: Two award winners and two alternates.
The Awards will be selected by random drawing and announced at the Spring Golf outing banquet. Checks will be issued after this event once the recipient’s eligibility has been verified.
One nomination per eligible member (as defined in the by-laws) shall be entered in the lottery drawing. A student may not be chosen two consecutive years.
Any NWCA member whose dues are current can nominate one student who fits into either of the following categories:
Category I: Students who are blood relations or legal dependents of a member, and who fit eligibility requirements.
Category II: Any student who fits the eligibility requirements
The Scholarship Chairman and the Treasurer of the Northwest Chemical Association will verify those nominated.
Eligible students include:
1) High school seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.75 who are entering their freshman year at an accredited college or university;
2) College students with a minimum GPA of 2.75 who are enrolled in a full time curriculum (12 hours minimum), are in good academic standing and will enroll in a full time curriculum the coming school year (fall). This includes graduate students with at least one full academic year to be completed.
